Read below to learn of the top 5 golfing ranges in Puerto Vallarta so you can schedule a tee time and practice your golf swing in paradise.

Marina Vallarta Golf Club

Marina Vallarta Golf Club is an 18-hole course designed by Joe Finger, a famous American architect. Located in the marina area of Puerto Vallarta, the Marina Vallarta Golf course is an exciting course that combines a tropical ambiance with amazing views of the Sierra Madre and Banderas Bay. Each year in December, the International Pro AM is held there which is one of the largest Pro Am tournaments in the world. Want to enjoy local wildlife sightings while you play? A crocodile sanctuary is situated just upriver from the Marina Vallarta Golf Club and many crocs are often spotted moving through the course. Keep your eyes peeled to avoid an unwelcome surprise, especially if you find yourself close to one of the numerous water holes.

The Nayar Course In Nuevo Vallarta

The newer Nayar Greg Norman course in Nuevo Vallarta is one of the more dramatic golf courses in the area. Just 10 minutes north of the Puerto Vallarta airport, the Nayar course is only accessible via a one-lane golf-cart suspension bridge that passes high over the Ameca River that will take your breath away.  A natural and technical masterpiece, this 18-hole, par 70 course is a viable option for novice golfers, but its seven lakes and 49 strategically placed bunkers will challenge more experienced golfers as well. The Pacifico Golf Course at Punta Mita

The Pacifico Golf Course at Punta Mita is one of four Jack Nicklaus golf courses in the Puerto Vallarta region and features 19 holes. This course is particularly outstanding as it includes eight holes that are adjacent to or facing the Pacific Ocean for views that just don’t quit.  Its inland holes offer vistas of the majestic Sierra Madre Mountain views that are similar to prominent features in many Jack Nicklaus’ challenging designs. For a bit of added adventure, there is an actual island green set in the middle of the ocean that requires a carry of at least 170 yards for the famous Tail of the Whale 3rd hole. You can only access the green by boat depending on the tides and ocean currents. If the currents are too rough, you play the landlocked third hole instead. El Faro, a popular surf break, is just around the corner off the 17th and 18th holes of the adjacent Bahia Course in Punta Mita. Low season twilight green fees start at $175.

The Weiskopf Course at Vista Vallarta

The Weiskopf Course at Vista Vallarta is a course that is engulfed in the lush, green vegetation that Puerto Vallarta is known for.  Open since 2001, the course is situated on the property’s lower west end where golfers will enjoy terrain that includes dense jungles, deep ravines and swift creeks. Surrounded by shady greenery, this is a great choice for both amateur and advanced golfers who want to escape the heat. While similar to the Nicklaus Course which is located on the same property, Weiskopf’s course is more popular as the design is more fun to play.  Green fees start at $111 per person for twilight tee times after 3pm.

Litibu Golf Club

Have the Puerto Vallarta high golf prices got you feeling a little light in the pockets? If so, head up to the Litibu Golf Club which is just inland from Punta Mita.  The Litibu Golf Club is a Greg Norman creation that transitions from a links course to a jungle layout. The bonus is that the green fee is only $100 which is relatively low, especially when compared to other courses in the area. Easy on the wallet and still a dream to play.

Next time you find yourself in town, book a tee time at one of these top golf courses and you will see for yourself while Puerto Vallarta is considered a golfer’s paradise.
